The shirt your team puts on in the morning either makes them feel like they belong to something worth belonging to, or reminds them it's just a cheap piece of clothing someone ordered in bulk.

We want your team to feel comfortable and confident wearing whatever carries your name. That's the bar we build everything around.

Why Helmsman exists.

The father-daughter duo, Chris and Kayla, started the business after sharing frustrations with the abundance of cheap clothing and time-intensive ordering processes.

Chris has decades of experience running a business. While ordering apparel for another company, he found that most options were low quality and wore out quickly. He realized that if he wouldn’t wear it himself, he shouldn’t expect his team to wear it either.

Kayla’s expertise lies in strategic planning, program management, and sustainability. When she tried to organize company apparel for her workplace, she found the process unnecessarily complicated and time-consuming.

Together, they set out to solve two problems: poor-quality apparel and frustrating ordering systems.

We've been there — and we built Helmsman because of it.

Apparel shouldn't be hard. Your team deserves to wear something they're proud of, and you deserve a process that respects your time.

We built Helmsman around a simple idea: we handle the parts you shouldn't have to. We digitize your logo, match your brand colors, curate the right garments for your team, collect sizes, prepare the paperwork your boss needs to sign off, and deliver the finished apparel pre-sorted and ready to hand out. You stay in the driver's seat on the decisions that matter. We take everything else off your plate.

The result is apparel that makes your team look the way you always imagined, and a process that actually fits into your week.

What you can expect from us.

We treat every order like it matters, because it does. Your team is going to wear this apparel. Your brand is going to be seen in it. The person ordering it (you) is going to be the one who either gets credit for a job well done or catches flak for a job that went sideways.

We take that seriously. And we'd rather tell you honestly that we're not the right fit than take a project we can't do well.

If you want to see how we work, the easiest first step is a free logo review. Send us your logo, in any format, and within one business day we'll send back an honest assessment. No sales call. No follow-up pressure.

Whatever you decide from there, we'll be glad we got to help.
